In this study, Azerbaijan's alternative tourism policy has been tried to be explained. The current study has been theoretically examined based on the qualitative research method and secondary data sources. The implementation of the proposals for the promotion of tourism in the off-season is one of the main goals determined by the Azerbaijani state. In this sense, the development of alternative tourism policies has become even more important. The alternative tourism approach, which includes different types of tourism instead of traditional tourism, includes basic issues such as diversification of tourism within itself, reducing dependence on oil in the economy, and socio-economic development of the regions. In order to determine the development prospects of alternative tourism types in Azerbaijan, there is a need to conduct in-depth research on the identification and assessment of tourism resources by region. This highlights the importance of a comprehensive study of the regional characteristics and development problems of alternative tourism.
