After the Second Karabakh War, the status of the Zangezur Corridor has become increasingly significant for Azerbaijan, which achieved territorial integrity. Azerbaijan and Turkey, key countries in the Middle Corridor with great potential as the safest and shortest trade route between Asia and the European continent, are actively working on optimizing the use of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route on one hand, and on the other hand, focusing on the operationalization of the Zangezur Corridor, also known as the Turkic Road, which encompasses the Baku-Nakhchivan-Kars route. The opening of this corridor will transform Azerbaijan into a logistical hub of Eurasia as a source and transfer country in terms of both cargo and passenger transportation, as well as energy transfer. Additionally, the historical Silk Road will be revitalized, bringing forth new economic opportunities for the Turkic States located along this historic route.
