In the study, the important points in the state tradition of the Turks, who have an ancient culture, were discussed and the character of the Turkish nation and the characteristics sought in the person to be elected leader / khan / khan were expressed. After explaining the talents expected from the leader in the Turkish state tradition and the characteristics sought in the leader with examples, the important leadership characteristics of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding leader of the Republic of Turkey, were given. In this way, the place of Mustafa Kemal in the Turkish leader type within the traditions transferred from the past to the future has been understood. When the results of the study are evaluated, it is seen that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as a member of the Turkish nation, has the character traits created by the environment in which he grew up as a member of the Turkish nation and as the carrier of the culture from which he came out of his bosom, he has the leadership qualities that his nation expects from him. Thus, it is understood that the characteristics sought in the leader in Turks within the Turkish State Tradition have preserved their basic aspects until today, the leader who is embraced is glorified and the last of these glorified leaders is Atatürk.

Çalışmada kadim bir kültüre sahip Türklerin devlet geleneğindeki önemli noktalar ele alınarak, Türk milletinin karakteri ve lider/kağan/hakan seçeceği kişide aradığı özellikleri dile getirilmiştir. Türk devlet geleneği içerisinde liderden beklenen yetenekler, liderde aranan özellikler örnekleriyle açıklandıktan sonra Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti’nin kurucu lideri Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün önemli liderlik özellikleri verilmiştir. Bu şekilde geçmişten geleceğe aktarılan gelenekler içerisinde Türk lider tipi içerisinde Mustafa Kemal’in yerinin anlaşılması sağlanmıştır. Çalışmadan çıkan sonuç değerlendirildiğinde Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün Türk milletinin bir ferdi olarak yetiştiği ortamın onda meydana getirdiği karakter özellikleri ve bağrından çıktığı kültürün taşıyıcısı olarak milletinin kendinden beklediği liderlik özelliklerini taşıdığı görülmüştür. Böylece Türk Devlet Geleneği içerisinde Türklerde liderde aranan özelliklerin günümüze kadar temel hususlarını koruduğu, sahiplenilen liderin yüceltildiği ve bu yüceltilen liderlerin sonuncusunun Atatürk olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.
