Abstract

Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk’te Görülen Oykonimik (Orunadcıl) Terimler Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk is an important work that contains a rich vocabulary from the Karakhanid period. In this study, it is aimed to examine the oikonyms in DLT. Within the scope of the study, first of all, the oikonymic terms were scanned from the work called Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk (introduction-text-translation-notes-index) prepared by Ahmet Bican Ercilasun and Ziyat Akkoyunlu. The scanned geographical terms are given with their meanings in the work. Afterwards, etymological explanations were made on some terms, and their use in historical and contemporary Turkish dialects as geographical terms were given. The etymological explanations of related terms was taken from Clauson’s An Etymological Dictionary of Pre-Thirteenth-Century Turkish, Drevnetyurkskiy Slovar prepared by A.M. Şçerbak, E. P. Tenişev, D. M. Nasilov, V. M. Nadelyaev and Tuncer Gulensoy’s Türkiye Türkçesindeki Türkçe Sözcüklerin Köken Bilgisi Sözlüğü. Contemporary Turkish dialect dictionaries and studies of E. D. Murzayev’s Slovar Narodnyh Geographicheskih Terminov, E.D. Murzayev and V. Murzayevva’s Slovar Mestnyh Geographycheskih Terminov were used for the usage of these terms in contemporary Turkish dialects.
