Abstract

KAZAKISTAN’IN KITLE ILETIŞIM ARAÇLARINDA GÖÇ KONUSU (2020-2023’TE EGEMEN KAZAKISTAN GAZETESI’NDE YAYINLANAN MAKALELER ÜZERINDE)

The issue of migration has been important since the years when Kazakhstan gained its independence. Because the low number of Kazakhs, the main ethnic group of the state, was seen as a national problem. The head of state of the period, Nursultan Nazarbayev, invited the Kazakhs who went abroad due to various historical conditions to their homeland. As a result, the number of Kazakhs increased. Today, Kazakhs make up 69.03 percent of Kazakhstan’s population; their number is about 13.2 million. Slightly better than the 1990’s. However, with the increase in population, the problem of internal and external migration arises. In this article, we discuss the writing process of the migration issue in Kazakhstan’s main newspaper, Egemen Kazakhstan. This is because many newspapers and magazines in Kazakhstan have switched to the modern online version. The Egemen Kazakhstan newspaper, on the other hand, is the official newspaper that is considered the “eye, ear and tongue” of the state, distributed both online and in print. If the aforementioned publication researches and writes regularly and in depth on the issue of migration, it means that, the issue of migration in Kazakhstan is being brought up at the state level. In the process of writing the article, we compared it with the issue of migration written in other Kazakh publications.
